Glow Bites for Collagen Production

Boost collagen without the need to bother the animals with these Glow Bites for Collagen Production

Amino acids have been all the rage lately. Everyone is either supplementing with peptides, sipping bone broth, or filling up with a ton of meat and dairy.

Collagen is popular for good reason too. The body uses amino acids to build muscles, bones, cartilage, skin, hair, connective tissue, and a hell of a lot else.

So it’s safe to say it’s pretty important to the body. Since collagen is the most abundant amino acid in your body, it makes sense to want to stock up on it.

But all of the store-bought sources are animal sources wether it be bone marrow, marine, or grass-fed. And thats not very vegan of us.

This post is full of tons of tips and tricks to produce collagen naturally in the body without the need for animal sources.

Animal-Free Sources

So number one quick tip is reading labels. I have yet to spot a vegan collagen source from the health food store. Some key phrases to dodge are “bone marrow”, “marine”, and “grass-fed”. These all indicate that the collagen comes from animal sources.

One of my favorite superfoods for collagen production is actually found in the vitamin aisle and it is MSM powder. Though I don’t even want to try to pronounce it the acronym stands for Methylsulfonylmethane. It has been touted the miracle supplement for it’s many health claims.

Many sources say that MSM is necessary for collagen production. Combined with vitamin C it is known as the collagen production duo.

According to this article, as you age you loose collagen causing adverse skin effects like sagging, wrinkles, and loose skin. And we don’t want that so lets talk about how to increase collagen for beautiful skin.

Moving on to foods because that’s why we are all here. Some foods that help produce collagen since they are high in vitamin C are the following:

  • Avocado
  • Berry
  • Citrus
  • Chia
  • Red Pepper
  • Tomatoes
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Sunflower Seeds
